Buy A Lincoln Before Sept. 7 And Get Three Years Free Maintenance

Lincoln has created a new aftersales offer in the effort to become more appealing to buyers. The American company announced that it will offer free scheduled maintenance for customers who purchase or lease new 2010 or 2011 model year Lincoln vehicles this summer.

Lincoln announced a promotion starting Friday that offers free scheduled maintenance for three years or 45,000 miles. The incentive runs through Sept. 7.

The strategy works well as it helps the dealership build a relationship with the customer, builds confidence in the brand, and isn't as likely to chip away at residuals and resale value the way that higher sustained cash-back incentives would.

DEARBORN, Mich., June 18, 2010 – Two weeks after revealing plans to expand the Lincoln brand and enhance the customer experience, the company today announced it would provide free scheduled maintenance for customers who purchase or lease new 2010 or 2011 Lincoln vehicles this summer.

Lincoln's U.S. customer program, which begins today and runs through Sept. 7, covers oil changes, tire rotations, vehicle inspections, engine belts and hoses for three years or 45,000 miles as well as wear items, including brake pads and wiper blades*, which normally are not covered by a vehicle warranty.

"Our commitment is to further grow the Lincoln brand and offer our luxury customers the premium experience they deserve and expect," said Ken Czubay, Ford Motor Company's vice president of U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. "Our free scheduled maintenance offer marks only the first step in our plans to further upgrade the Lincoln experience."

    The road ahead
Lincoln will expand its brand lineup with seven all-new or significantly refreshed vehicles in the next four years as part of an aggressive growth plan focused on standout product design, class-leading technology and new powertrains – all aimed at competing with Cadillac and Lexus in North America.

Lincoln will be led by expanded product development and marketing, sales and service teams to support the brand's growth plan and ensure it has a strong cadence of distinct products that are well positioned in the market. Plans for Lincoln include:

    • Lincoln's first-ever C-segment vehicle

    • EcoBoost™ engines available in all Lincolns – from the Navigator full-size SUV to the new C-segment Lincoln
    • Fuel economy leadership with each new vehicle – leading to Lincoln emerging as the most fuel-efficient luxury lineup on the market
    • More useful technology and features than any other competitor – with a special focus on comfort and convenience. New advanced features include: fully retractable glass roofs; adaptive computer-controlled suspensions; electronic, push-button gear-selectors; active noise control; and exclusive MyLincoln Touch™ driver connect technology
Lincoln's hallmarks will be refined, modern design, the most fuel-efficient premium powertrains and industry-leading technology that create a unique driver experience both in the cabin and on the road.

    Strong foundation
The future of Lincoln is building from a strong base that includes the all-new flagship MKS large sedan, the all-new MKT seven-passenger crossover and a significantly refreshed MKZ mid-size sedan – all now in showrooms.

The hybrid version of the MKZ will reach showrooms later this year and has been EPA-certified as the most fuel-efficient luxury sedan on the market, delivering 41 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Also arriving in dealerships later this year is the significantly refreshed 2011 MKX crossover, the first vehicle to feature MyLincoln Touch driver connect technology.

The aim is to deliver each new Lincoln with segment-leading quality.

On Thursday, J.D. Power and Associates released its 2010 Initial Quality Study that showed Lincoln moved into the top 10 among all automotive brands in the U.S. Lincoln moved to the eighth position, up from the 26th spot a year ago – the largest jump of any brand.

The J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Initial Quality Study is based on responses from more than 82,000 new 2010 model-year vehicle owners after they have driven their new vehicles for three months. It measures problems per 100 vehicles and was based on November through February registrations.

Earlier this year, Lincoln placed second behind Porsche in the 2010 J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study, ahead of several luxury brands, including Lexus, Mercedes, Acura and Cadillac. This study examines long-term durability of vehicles sold in the U.S.

    FUEL-EFFICIENT LUXURY SEDAN IN AMERICA
    • New 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid expected to be most fuel-efficient
      luxury sedan in America
    • Lincoln MKZ Hybrid takes SmartGaugeTM with EcoGuide to
next level, offering drivers enhanced positive feedback on long-term
      fuel efficiency and driving performance
    • More standard luxury, technologies and segment-exclusive safety
features in the new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid help it top its nearest
competitor, the 2010 Lexus HS 250h

NEW YORK, March 31, 2010 - Lincoln today introduces its first hybrid -
the new 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid - a premium midsize car poised to be the
most fuel-efficient luxury sedan in America.

Ford Motor Company - America's largest domestic hybrid seller - is
further broadening its aggressive electrification plan and second generation
of hybrid technology with the new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The vehicle is
revealed today at the New York International Auto Show.

"Lincoln's hallmarks are design, technology and comfort. Now, Lincoln
also delivers the best fuel efficiency of any luxury sedan in America," said
Mark Fields, Ford's president of The Americas.

Lincoln's first-ever hybrid is expected to deliver at least 41 miles per
gallon in the city when it goes on sale this fall.

The new premium midsize sedan hybrid joins Ford Motor Company's growing
lineup of hybrids, including the Ford Fusion Hybrid - 2010 North American
Car of the Year and America's most fuel-efficient sedan - plus the Ford
Escape Hybrid and Mercury Milan and Mariner Hybrids.

Introduction of the new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid also complements Ford's
aggressive global electrification plan. Ford is introducing five new
electrified vehicles by 2013. They include the Transit Connect Electric in
late 2010, the Focus Electric in 2011, a next-generation hybrid electric
vehicle and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in 2012, followed by
another next-generation hybrid electric vehicle in 2013.

The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid's projected fuel economy tops its nearest
competitor - the 2010 Lexus HS 250h - by 6 mpg. It also trumps the Lexus
with room for one more passenger and more standard luxury and
    segment-exclusive safety features.

"Today's luxury customers do not want to make sacrifices. Lincoln has
found a way to deliver a luxury sedan with the comforts they expect, the
technology they want and the environmental responsibility society demands,"
said Derrick Kuzak, Ford's group vice president, Global Product Development.

The 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid uses Ford's second-generation hybrid
technology - the 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine, named one of
    Ward's 2010 "10 Best Engines."

The system combines the best attributes of the gasoline engine and
electric battery-driven motors to deliver optimal performance and fuel
    economy.

Industry-leading fuel economy comes without sacrificing power. The
combined gasoline engine and electric motor provide 191 net horsepower.
Plus, the pure electric mode on the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid extends to 47 mph -
compared with the Lexus HS 250h battery-only mode, which reaches just 25
    mph.

    More standard luxury

The 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid comes standard with features and technologies
that are either not offered on the Lexus HS 250h or are available only at an
    extra cost. They include:

    • SmartGauge with EcoGuide - Ford's highly successful interactive
technology provides real-time information to help drivers maximize fuel
efficiency, and coaches drivers on how to optimize hybrid performance.
Lincoln takes SmartGauge to the next level of engagement by giving
drivers enhanced positive feedback on long-term fuel efficiency and
driving performance through the "growth" of virtual small flowers on the
system's right-most screen. Lincoln's white flowers, inspired by apple
blossoms, remain permanently unless long-term fuel economy is reset.
    • Lincoln SYNC® - The Lincoln-exclusive voice-activated communications
and entertainment system provides an omnipresent link to contacts and
information. In addition to Bluetooth® phone, audible text and MP3
player capabilities, Lincoln customers also can access Vehicle Health
      Report and 911 Assist
      TM.
    • 10-Way Power Passenger Seat - This seat is designed to accommodate a
diverse group of passengers. Memory functions enable passengers to
      fine-tune and recall their positions.
    • Power Driver Memory Seat Settings - The driver seat memory feature
helps ensure personal seating preferences anytime, with the touch of a
      button.
    • Heated and Cooled Front Seats - This uniquely engineered system
delivers exceptional heating and cooling comfort.
    • Genuine Wood Trim - In addition to their exquisite appearance, the
Swirl Walnut and Olive Ash wood trims offered in the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid
are eco-friendly as well. The veneers come from well-managed forests, as
defined by strict environmental, social and economic standards, and from
      other rigorously controlled sources.
    • Reverse Sensing System - This system senses what drivers might not
see behind them and relays an audible alert if objects are near, which
increases in frequency the closer a driver gets.
    • Keyless Entry Keypad - This Lincoln-exclusive feature provides
secure entry at a driver's fingertips. A personal combination holds a
memory for driver preferences. So if an owner is out for a run and
doesn't want to take the keys along, the vehicle can be opened with the
      touch of a few buttons.
    • Easy Fuel® Capless Fuel-Filler - This Lincoln-exclusive feature uses
an integrated spring-loaded flapper door to eliminate the need for a
fuel tank screw cap. That means no more fumbling to remove and tighten
the cap and less fuel odor on a driver's hands at the pump.
    • Personal Safety SystemTM - A Lincoln-exclusive suite of
seven protection technologies works together as a system to help protect
vehicle occupants. The system includes dual-stage front air bags and an
occupant classification system to sense whether the passenger seat is
occupied. It tailors - or suppresses - air bag deployment to help
provide an appropriate level of protection. It also features the Ford
Belt-Minder® system to remind front-seat occupants to buckle up.
    • MyKeyTM - This Lincoln-exclusive feature allows parents
to program a key to limit speed and audio volume to encourage teens to
drive safer and improve fuel efficiency. It also encourages seat belt
usage, provides earlier low-fuel warnings, and can be programmed to
sound chimes at 45, 55 and 65 mph.
    • Integrated Spotter Mirrors - The traditional side-view mirrors are
designed with a secondary convex spotter mirror in the top outer corner,
which provides a view of the driver's blind spot. When traffic enters
the driver's blind spot on either side of the vehicle, it is visible in
the secondary convex mirror, alerting the driver of obstacles.
    • Acoustic Laminated Windshield - This windshield features a layer of
sound-absorbent vinyl sandwiched between two sheets of glass, which
      enhances interior quietness.

The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid also includes standard Bridge of Weir leather
seats. The world-renowned luxury leather from Scotland is unembossed,
allowing the natural beauty and character of the grain to shine through. The
leather is milled for up to 12 hours to ensure a soft hand, and Bridge of
Weir uses a chromium-free tanning process, which makes it easier to recycle.

Ford to launch new Mercury small car in 2011

Ford Motor Co (F.N) will launch a new small car for its Mercury brand in early 2011, based on the automaker's new global compact car platform, Ford President of the Americas Mark Fields said on Sunday.
The new Mercury is one of the 10 vehicles Ford is planning for its global small car architecture, that also underpins the upcoming 2012 Ford Focus, and would expand the lineup of the mid-level premium brand long devoid of new products.
The launch also underscores the No. 2 U.S. automaker's support for the brand despite uncertainty in some analysts' views over whether Ford will keep the brand in the long term.

Fields unveiled the plan during a meeting with U.S. dealers at the annual National Automobile Dealers Association convention in Orlando, Florida.
"The trend towards more fuel-efficient vehicles is very important, the trend toward (small) cars in general is coming back. We are responding to that," Fields told reporters after the meeting with dealers.

U.S. sales for the Mercury brand fell 23 percent to 92,299 vehicles in 2009, while the overall market was down 21 percent. The company's flagship Ford brand sold 1.44 million units in the U.S. market in 2009, down 14 percent from a year earlier.
A Ford dealer who attended the meeting said the new Milan was likely to be showcased at the New York Auto Show in March.

    FIESTA ORDERS
Ford U.S. sales chief Ken Czubay said dealers can start to order the new Fiesta small car on Monday, months ahead of its launch this summer.
The Fiesta, which could get 40 miles per gallon on the highway and 30 mpg in city driving, brings Ford back to a subcompact segment it abandoned and represents the automaker's big bet that it can drive back to profitability with a new lineup of cars.
More than 6,000 consumers have made reservations for the Fiesta through Ford's online order system, Czubay said.
"It seems to be a home run. And it gave us invaluable feedback from consumers," he said.
Ford also plans to launch a redesigned Focus small car later in 2010.
The only large U.S. automaker not to reorganize under a government-funded bankruptcy in 2009, Ford has forecast a profitable 2010 after posting its first full-year profit since 2005 last year.

2005 Lincoln LS

    2005 Lincoln LS

The mid-to-late 1990s decline in the market for personal luxury coupes prompted Lincoln to drop the Mark series. During the same period, the market for entry-level luxury/sport sedans was on the rise. Ford’s ownership of Jaguar placed Lincoln in a good position to tap into that market. In a clever example of international platform sharing, the Lincoln LS shared much of its mechanical DNA with the Jaguar S-Type. Introduced in early 1999 as a 2000 model, the LS combined American luxury with a healthy dollop of European-standard rear-wheel-drive dynamics.

The LS was fitted with a fully independent suspension and could be had with either a 3-liter V-6 or 3.9-liter V-8. A manual transmission, part of a sport package, was available with the V-6. It was the first time in nearly 50 years that Lincoln buyers were offered a clutch pedal. Like the overall package, the interior combined Lincoln-level amenities with a driver-oriented layout and bolstered front buckets to keep driver and passenger firmly in place during spirited driving. The standard LS was joined in 2002 by the LSE (Limited Special Edition), which is best described as a body package similar to those found on Mercedes’ AMG and BMW’s M-Series, but without those exemplars’ performance enhancements.

The LS remained unchanged in all but a few minor details during its first three model years. In 2003 it was treated to some useful enhancements. Although the car’s appearance remained much the same, both engines were upgraded to incorporate continuously variable intake cam timing and other leading-edge components. An electric engine cooling fan replaced the mechanical fan used in earlier models, and a THX-certified sound system was made available. The LSE package was continued as an option.

The slow-selling V-6 model was dropped for 2006, the last year of LS production. Also gone was the LSE, but the standard LS was fitted with some of that model’s body modifications. The LS racked up nearly 263,000 sales during its seven-year run, but only 9,000 of them were sold during the final year. It was replaced in the Lincoln lineup by the very different 2006 Zephyr, which was renamed the MKZ the following year.

2003 Lincoln Aviator

    2003 Lincoln Aviator

This is 2003 Lincoln Aviator, one of the well-known car types. Dou you want to know what Lincoln is? Read the following car information.

Lincoln is manufacturer of luxury cars, trucks and SUVs for the United States domestic market, primarily known for its Mark- and Continental-series luxury coupes and sedans. Cadillac co-founder Henry Leland started the company in 1917 and named it after former U.S. president Abraham Lincoln. After only two models and mounting financial trouble, Leland sold the company to Ford in 1922. The company has served as Ford’s luxury-car arm since that time.

In 1936 Lincoln introduced the Zephyr, which shared its name with a high-speed express train. Edsel Ford helped influence the Zephyr’s daring aerodynamic styling cues, and the car was a huge success. The Zephyr served as the foundation of the original Continental; the Continental was based on Edsel Ford’s personally customized Zephyr. The Continental’s most distinctive feature was its vertical, externally mounted rear tire; that styling cue would appear on other Continentals over the following decades.

Continental was briefly its own brand name in the Ford umbrella; the extremely rare and expensive 1955-1957 Continental Mark II was its sole offering. Its replacement, the more conventional Ford-based 1958 Continental Mark III in 1958 was once again a Ford product.

The 1961 Lincoln Continental was different from prior models--and not just because the car dropped the Mark nomenclature. It was shorter and was famous for its suicide doors, where the rear doors were hung from the rear and opened in the front. It was also the first car in the U.S. to offer a two-year bumper-to-bumper manufacturer’s warranty. This model was modified for presidential use and was the vehicle in which President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

Lincoln responded to changing market demands in the late 1970s with its mid-size Versailles, which was criticized for its similarity to its Ford Grenada sibling and its lack of Lincoln luxury distinctiveness. However, the Continental continued to evolve as a larger personal-luxury vehicle, and in 1981 the full-size Continental was renamed the Lincoln Town Car. The full-size Town Car ultimately became one of the best selling luxury cars in the U.S., known for luxury features like digital displays and the keypad entry system. The Continental name, meanwhile, returned on a smaller sedan in 1982.

The Continental name ultimately retired in 2002, but the Town Car continues as Lincoln’s premium sedan. Lincoln also added its first SUV, the Navigator, in 1998 and its first luxury pickup truck, the Mark LT, in 2006. The current entry-level MKZ, an upgrade of the earlier Lincoln LS mid-size luxury sports sedan, arrived in 2007, as did the MKX crossover SUV. The new, contemporary MKS is Lincoln’s newest full-size sedan.
