Bugatti 16C Galibier will be launched in 2013

VW has approved the production of the Bugatti 16C Galibier sedan according to a Bloomberg report. It was showcased as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The car itself, has 1,000 hp under its hood and could cost around €1 million ($1.4 million), according to the inside sources.

The 16C Galibier would join the Veyron sports car in Bugatti's lineup. But Galibier production may not start for two to three years while Bugatti retools its boutique manufacturing plant in Molsheim, France.

The 16C will feature the same all-wheel drive set-up and the same seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as the smaller record-breaking hypercar. Even though the Veyron was built purely as an ultra luxurious speed machine, the larger, more luxurious 16C is set to follow in the same footsteps. It might even break a few records for the fastest production four-door sedan when it hits the road.

CSR Volkswagen Scirocco

CSR Automotive, a German aftermarket specialists, releases their Volkswagen Scirocco upgrade program. The car comes with a turbocharged engine and a custom body kit that includes a single frame grille, new side sills, a rear apron styled by O-Line-Design, upper and lower rear wings, headlight trims and a stainless steel dual tailpipe exhaust system.

The CSR Volkswagen Scirocco comes with a partial, carbon-look foil, and packed the striking new alloys Schmidt Revolution, which measure 20 inches size, Toyo tires (235/30 ZR20 285/25 ZR20 front and rear) and € 3400 .

SUCCESSFUL RESUSCITATION by CSR Automotive

After several years of hesitation, VW - not least because of pressure from the customers - has won through to reanimation of its warm Mediterranean wind Scirocco. Good news, because many professional tuners have in the meantime put into action their version of a still further perfected Scirocco. Thus, the company CSR Automotive from Nurnberg is in a good company, but it presents a stunning version of the Mediterranean wind that has no parallels.

Originally from the 2009, Scirocco III was equipped with a turbocharged engine with an in-house body kit consisting of a single-frame front grille, side skirts and a rear apron from the O-Line-Design, the upper and lower rear wings, "bad-look" headlight trims and a stainless steel rear silencer with suitable outlets.

The obvious effect is also provided by a partial foil design in carbon-look.

The alpha and omega of any redevelopment continues to be a successful tire / wheel combination that can never be spectacular enough. And now - once again - Schmidt Revolution (www.FELGE.de) from Bad Segeberg comes into play. Thanks to its rims Cirrus with carbon-look parts (wheel assembly costs 3400 euro) in the dimensions of 8.5x20" with 235/30 ZR20 tires from Toyo at the front or 10.5x20" with 285/25 ZR20 - at the rear axles, Schmidt comes near to the ideal of "perfect footwear" for the Scirocco.

There is only the pious hope to sit in the sports chair and go on. That is quite feasible ...

Volkswagen Bulli Concept

Volkswagen has releases Bulli Concept, which will debut at the Geneva auto show..

The new Bulli measures 3.99 m in length, 1.75 m in width and 1.70 m in height. In relation to its width it has a wide track (1.50 m front and rear), and very short overhangs at the front and back. Its kerb weight is 1,450 kg.

The Bulli is equipped with an electric motor that generates 114 horsepower, along with a lithium-ion battery. VW said the Bulli has a range of 186 miles — surprisingly high versus most EVs. It accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 11.5 seconds and has a top speed of 87 mph.

Inside the cabin you will see a removable iPad which serves as the multi-function touchscreen on the center console and handles matters such as navigation. No tachometer is needed and no gear shift is present either. There's a rotary switch on the dash to engage the forward and reverse gears.

On a wheelbase measuring 2.62 metres - slightly longer than that of a Golf (2.58 m) - the new Bulli measures 3.99 m in length, 1.75 m in width and 1.70 m in height. In relation to its width it has a wide track (1.50 m front and rear), and very short overhangs at the front and back. Its kerb weight is 1,450 kg.

This includes the weight of the energy source: a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery, which is concealed in the sandwiched floor behind the sills and powers the Bulli's electric motor. This engine produces 85 kW (115 PS) of power and 260 Nm (192 lbs ft) of torque and the theoretical driving range is up to 300 km (186 miles) - a high value for an electric car. With this electric motor, the new Bulli can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 11.5 seconds and go on to an electronically limited top speed of 87 mph. 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI

Volkswagen has announced the new 2012 Jetta GLI at the Chicago Auto Show.

This new GLI starts at $24,265. The Autobahn package adds 18-inch alloy wheels, sunroof and interior upgrades, including a Fender sound system, pushing the sticker to $26,315. An electronics package with navigation and push-button start is $27,215.

Available in a total of three equipment grades (GLI, GLI Autobahn and GLI Autobahn Navigation), the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta GLI will be able to develop 200 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque, all of which will get channeled through a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic DSG transmission.

Interior highlights include sport bucket seats with red stitching, a sport flat-bottom steering wheel with red stitching, GLI logo and aluminum accents, as well as alloy pedals, shifter, dash and door trim.

The big change, of course, is that the GLI will benefit from a more sophisticated independent rear suspension than the standard Jetta, and VW has ported over its XDS cross differential technology from the GTI.

Engine and Transmission
The sporty Jetta GLI boasts the award winning 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, generating 200 horsepower and a full 207 lb.-ft. of torque at just 1,700 rpm, contributing to drivability and response of the vehicle in both everyday and performance situations. The Jetta GLI is offered with a six speed manual transmission as standard equipment. This new model is significantly lighter than the previous Jetta GLI and it offers power and performance coupled with German sensibilities. While EPA figures are not yet available, the Jetta GLI is expected to deliver 31 mpg highway with the manual and 32 mpg highway with the DSG® automatic.

Exterior
The Jetta GLI combines performance, space and comfort in one sleek package. At 182.2 inches long, 57.2 inches tall and 70 inches wide, it is more than 2.9 inches longer than previous Jetta models.
The front end of the car is defined by prominent horizontal lines. The Jetta GLI grille and the car's trapezoidal headlights help create a distinct look. Below the bumper is a cooling air intake and tray-shaped front spoiler that completes the masculine look of the car. The upper front end section shows a powerful transition from the v-shaped engine hood to the fenders on the sides while the shoulder section provides dynamic and muscular styling.


The aggressive styling of the Jetta GLI is powerfully emphasized by the arches of the wheel wells available with 17" or 18" alloys. Sleek lines and sporty shoulders dominate the rear section. The smoked taillights stand out with two distinct sections extending on either side from the fender into the tailgate above the dual exhaust tips.


Interior
Like the exterior, the interior of the Jetta GLI stays true to its sport and performance roots. Featuring sport bucket seats with red stitching and a sport flat-bottom steering wheel with red stitching, the GLI logo and aluminum accents, the interior styling consistently follows the clean, sporty lines of the car. The Jetta GLI is available in cloth or V-Tex Leatherette and also features sleek alloy pedals, shifter, dash and door trim.

Volkswagen Touareg Gold Edition Study

Volkswagen has unveiled two exclusive Touareg concept cars at the 2011 Qatar Motor Show.

The Touareg Gold Edition study is painted in "Magic Morning" white combined with splashes of gold found in the 22" wheels, roof rails, protective guard strips, and window frames. Other elements given the golden touch are the mirror caps, parts of the air intake frame, the "Touareg V8" signature, and boot sill trim.

Inside, 24-carat gold also adorns many of the car’s accents and switches, making the entire car unique. The interior design itself has a pleasant, bright appearance in the “Luna” trim color. The Alcantara roof-liner shows this color as does the Nappa leather of the seats, which is decorated with ornamental stitch detailing.

Volkswagen presents world exclusive Touareg in Qatar

Wolfsburg / Doha, 26 January 2011 - At the first Qatar Motor Show (26 - 29 January), Volkswagen is presenting two exclusive SUV concept cars for the first time. The common denominator of these all-wheel drive vehicles: No compromises! Show car number 1 is a slightly tamer version of the Touareg 3 that started in the Dakar Rally at the beginning of January; this 228 kW / 310 PS Volkswagen could very well be the world's most talented street-legal SUV. Show car number 2 is the Touareg Gold Edition - many of its parts have been upgraded with 24-carat gold; this 265 kW Volkswagen (360 PS) is debuting as one of the highest quality SUVs ever. The cost of these concept cars? Priceless. Yet...

Race Touareg 3 Qatar

This is a genuine Rally motorsport vehicle, like the one that was still touring South America in the Dakar Rally two weeks ago and was built to withstand the toughest rally race in the world. The vehicle now being shown in Qatar is a version of the Race Touareg 3 - an SUV that can sprint to 100 km/h in less than six seconds - that is legally approved for use on public roadways. The just over two metre wide body was slightly modified for road use. Instead of 16-inch wheels, new 18-inch wheels from BBS with a gold look are being used. The "Race Touareg" signature - also in a golden colour - stretches the entire length of the vehicle's sides. In turn, it is perfectly coordinated with the exterior paint in "Magic Morning," a white that has a slight gold shimmer to it.

The interior was completely redesigned; all that remained unmodified was the safety cage. Without compromises also means an interior that offers easy controls and is ergonomic. The interior has an extremely well-organised appearance with focus on the driving machine, and it is equipped with Recaro racing bucket seats. Designers created an interior in so-called "Stealth look" that is reminiscent of the aircraft of the same name. In tribute to the Dakar Rally, the Dakar victories are etched in the anodised aluminium of the centre console, right next to the "Race Touareg" signature.

Other trim elements are treated in Matt Carbon. Tuned to this is the roll cage in "Serpentino Grey Metallic." Interior designers have upholstered the seat side supports and the door trim panels with Nubuk leather in "Black" and "Pure Grey," while the centre seat panels are made from perforated Nappa leather in "Titan Black." Additional accents include the two-tone seams and silver piping on the seat covers and safety-related items painted in "Tornado Red." The only other ingredient that is needed is some time to explore the world on a "360 degree route" in this uncompromising car.

Touareg Gold Edition

The Touareg Gold Edition would certainly be able to handle a journey around the world - but bear in mind, this car should only be parked where there is good surveillance. That is because - living up its name - certain areas of this SUV are upgraded with 24-carat gold. On the outside, they include the custom designed 22-inch wheels, roof rails, protective guard strips and window frames, mirror caps and parts of the air intake frame, "Touareg V8" signature and boot sill trim. Like the Race Touareg 3 Qatar, this SUV is also painted in "Magic Morning" body colour.

Inside, 24-carat gold also adorns many of the car's accents and switches, making the entire car unique. The interior design itself has a pleasant, bright appearance in the "Luna" trim colour. Automotive craftsmanship at its finest is reflected in the Walnut Burr accents with genuine gold marquetry - also crafted into an ornamental pattern. This is in keeping with the general image of the Touareg, which - in the "normal" production version - is one of the most sophisticated SUVs in the world.
